Mumbai Maharashtra News Today Live: The BJP has sent a strong signal to its alliance partner, the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena, that it will have a greater say in Vidarbha region of the state. Of the total eleven districts in Vidarbha, the BJP has bagged guardian ministership in eight districts, leaving just three districts for Shinde’s Sena. The decision has raised eyebrows among the leaders of Shinde’s faction. CM Eknath Shinde Saturday finalised list of guardian ministers in 36 districts in the state.
Having gone missing in 2013, 16-year-old Pooja Gaud was finally reunited with her family last month. However, the physical and mental trauma that she suffered during the nine years in which she was allegedly kept captive has meant that the days since her reunion with her family have been no fairy tale. She was allegedly abducted by a couple on January 22, 2013, some distance from a Mumbai school. Her disappearance had led to a massive media campaign to find her. Over the years, she came to be known as Girl No 166 for being the only one, out of a total of 166 missing girls, to not be found by DN Nagar police station’s assistant sub-inspector Rajendra Bhosle’s team between 2008 and 2015.
A total of 8,911 cattle in Maharashtra have recovered from Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) out of the total 24,466 affected, the state government said on Sunday. Commissioner for Animal Husbandry Sachindra Pratap Singh said that the disease has spread in 1,796 villages of 30 districts. “A total of 81.62 lakh vaccines for LSD were made available in the state. Nearly 58.14 lakh cattle have been vaccinated for free. In this, 40.34 lakh is in the 5 km radius of 1,796 villages while the rest 17.80 is out of the radius,” said Singh.
