Mumbai Maharashtra News Today Live: Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray on Saturday lashed out at the Eknath Shinde-led state government for Vedanta-Foxconn’s decision to set up its semiconductor plant in Gujarat instead of Maharashtra. The project went out of Maharashtra after the Shinde-led rebel Shiv Sena MLAs toppled the Maha Vikas Aghadi government headed by Uddhav Thackeray, he said. The Shiv Sena and its youth wing Yuva Sena on Saturday organized a protest over the loss of the semiconductor project at Talegaon in Pune district, the site where it was supposed to come up.

In other news, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday appointed guardian ministers of districts in the state, with his deputy and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Devendra Fadnavis getting charge of several areas of Vidarbha. While Fadnavis will be the guardian minister of Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, Akola, Bhandara and Gadchiroli, school education minister Deepak Kesarkar will be the guardian minister of Mumbai city and Kolhapur. The metropolis’ suburban district will be under the charge of tourism minister Mangalprabhat Lodha.

Parts of Mumbai witnessed rainfall on Saturday morning, but the public transport services in the city remained unaffected and no major waterlogging was reported, civic officials said. The city and its eastern and western suburbs received heavy showers between 7 am and 8 am. But the rainfall stopped after that in most of these places.
