Mumbai: Mumbai is anticipated to have moderate to heavy rainfall from September 8 to 12, with a wet spell in the city on September 9, 10, and 11. This is expected to result in a total of 200 mm of rainfall in Mumbai, according to Skymet Weather Services, a private weather forecasting organisation.

Central portions of the Bay of Bengal are anticipated to see cyclonic circulation and a low-pressure area/depression. With an east-west oriented trough stretching across Maharashtra up to Mumbai, this weather feature will reach the east coast on September 8, according to a statement released by Skymet on Wednesday.

According to an India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, Mumbai is expected to receive moderate rainfall on September 7, and heavy rainfall at isolated places on September 9 and 10.

September 8, 9, and 10 have a probability of light to moderate rain. The city may experience an upsurge in rain activity by the evening of September 10. On September 11 and 12, there will be brief intense spells, according to Mahesh Palawat, vice president of Skymet Weather (climate change and meteorology). In general, heavy rains will continue on and off until September 13, but because they will come and go throughout the day, there will be less of a possibility that commuters would experience acute pain.

Over Mumbai, rain is probably going to stop by the middle of the month. Modest rain showers are probable over Mumbai on September 14 and 15, as the low-pressure belt is anticipated to move into Rajasthan by then.
