Mumbai records 316 new COVID-19 cases, three deaths; active count stands at 2,218 – Times Now

Mumbai: Mumbai reported 316 new Coronavirus positive cases and three fatalities on Wednesday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.

Consequently, the number of infections in the country’s financial capital reached 11,47,041, while the number of deaths increased to 19,714, said the bulletin.

A total of 285 cases of COVID-19 were reported in Mumbai on Tuesday. There were no fatalities reported.

Since the beginning of September, the city has been recording over 200 cases daily. With 2,218 active cases, the active case count fell below 2,500. There were 2,540 active cases a day ago.

During the last 24 hours, 8,075 tests were conducted, resulting in a cumulative test count of 1,81,42,983. In the city, 5,046 tests were conducted on Tuesday.

Mumbai’s overall recovery count rose to 11,25,109 as 635 patients recovered during the day.

Mumbai has a 98.1 per cent recovery rate. Among the 316 new cases, 17 are symptomatic, while 299 are asymptomatic, according to the bulletin.
