Traffic restrictions in Mumbai on Sunday, Monday for Amit Shah’s visit; check routes to avoid – Times Now

Mumbai: Traffic regulations will be enforced in several parts of Mumbai on Sunday and Monday during the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the city. The Mumbai traffic police have issued the notification and directed the commuters to take note of the arrangements and avoid the routes.

The regulations will be in place in some parts of Central Mumbai, South Mumbai, and Western suburbs on September 4 and 5.

In Western Suburbs, the restriction on traffic movement will be placed on Sunday from 9 pm to 10:30 pm in areas like Sahar in Andheri (East), Bandra (East), and Worli Sea Link.

In South Mumbai, the traffic will be regulated on Sunday from 9 pm to 10:30 pm in Haji Ali, Kemps Corner, Malabar Hill and Babulnath.

Also on Monday, from 9 am to 12:30 pm, vehicle movements will be affected in Lalbaug, Parel, Lotus Junction, Mahalaxmi Race Course, Saat Rasta, Chinchpokli Junction, Malabar Hill, Kemps Corner, Babulnath, Haji Ali, Worli Dairy, Worli Sea Link and Lilavati Junction, the city traffic police informed.

Snarled-up traffic is expected on Monday between 2 pm and 3 pm in Malabar Hill, Girgaon Chowpatty, Marine Drive, Regal Junction and Colaba areas. Marol and Powai regions will have restrictions placed on Monday, from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The Union Home Minister is arriving in Mumbai on Sunday night for taking part in the Ganeshotsav festival. He will be visiting the pandal of Lalbaugcha Raja, one of the oldest and most popular Ganesh mandals in Mumbai. The minister will also attend political meetings during the two-day visit and will also inaugurate a school at Powai.

The Ganeshotsav celebrations in Mumbai this year began on August 31. The city residents are celebrating it in full glory as the public celebrations are being held after two years of covid related restrictions. The celebrations will conclude on September 9.
