Ex-judge of Bombay HC More named CAT chief – Times of India

Mumbai: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday appointed Justice Ranjit More, a former judge of the Bombay High Court and Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, as the Chairman of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).
Justice More’s nomination was earlier approved by the appointments committee of the Union Cabinet. Born in a small village in Satara district of Maharashtra, Justice More was appointed as the judge of the Bombay High Court on September 8, 2006. On October 12, 2021, Justice More was elevated as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court. During his tenure as judge of the Bombay High Court, the 63-year old Justice More delivered exemplary judgments on cases such as illegal phone tapping and Maratha reservation. tnn
