Mumbai live news, August 3: Chhabria of Radius Developers and Bhonsale of ABIL Infrastructure and Metropolois Hotels were earlier arrested for their alleged role in the case, known to be India’s biggest bank fraud.

Mumbai News Today Live (August 3): The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday attached assets worth Rs 415 crore from builders Sanjay Chhabria and Avinash Bhosale, who are accused in the Yes Bank-Dewan Housing Finance Ltd (DHFL) case. “ED has provisionally attached assets worth Rs. 251 Crore of Sanjay Chhabria and assets worth Rs 164 Crore of Avinash Bhosale, (total asset worth of Rs. 415 crore) in Yes Bank-DHFL Fraud case under PMLA, 2002,” the Enforcement Directorate tweeted on Wednesday. “Total attachment in the case stands at Rs. 1827 Crore.”

Mumbai Police on Tuesday registered an FIR against Shiv Sena’s Thane district unit head Kedar Dighe for threatening a 23-year-old woman who was allegedly raped by his friend at a five-star hotel in Lower Parel. The case was registered at N M Joshi Marg Police Station against Dighe and his friend Rohit Kapoor. “We received a complaint and have registered a case against Dighe. We are yet to arrest the accused,” a senior IPS officer said. Dighe said that he was not aware of such a case against him.

In other news, Mumbai on Tuesday recorded 329 new coronavirus cases, up from 164 a day ago, but no fresh death linked to the infection was registered in the metropolis, the local civic body said. With this, the overall tally of Covid-19 cases rose to 11,25,306, while the death toll remained unchanged at 19,651, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in a bulletin.
