Mumbai: Street musician found dead with multiple head injuries, unknown person booked for murder – Times of India

MUMBAI: Versova police registered a first information report (FIR) against an unknown person in alleged case of murder after a 25-year-old man was found dead at BEST bus depot in Seven Bungalow, Andheri (West) on Sunday.
The victim identified as Suraj Tiwari (25) succumbed due to the injury that he has suffered on the back of his head that was caused after being hit with a paver block.
The incident was observed at around 10.45am when the police control room alerted the Versova police about an unknown person dead with multiple head injuries at the bus depot.
Versova police senior inspector Siraj Inamdar and the detection team visited the spot and learned that Tiwari used to stay on the roadside and used to earn his livelihood playing guitar.
Initially, the police team learned from the locals that the victim’s name was Suraj. Later, during the probe police gathered more information and found out that Tiwari hailed from Palam area of Delhi and was a street musician.
Police said that Tiwari died after he was hit by someone on Saturday night over some matter. Police are examining CCTV grabs to ascertain the identity of the accused. A case of murder has been registered against an unknown person.
