It’s not rebellion but treachery, fumes Aaditya Thackeray – Times of India

MUMBAI: Hours after Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray stepped down as CM, his MLA son Aaditya Thackeray said they were betrayed by their own people with “monster ambitions”. He, however, added that the party’s doors were open to those who were “brainwashed and forced to leave”.
“The traitors took advantage of us when my father was just out of surgery and was in isolation. We had an idea about a couple of people’s ambitions and they were offered the posts they wanted a month before this drama started,” said Aaditya, while speaking to a TV ch-annel on Thursday morning.
“This is not rebellion, but treachery,” he said. “My father, grandfather and his father all believed that power and money come, go and come again…that is beyond one’s control, but one should never lose one’s reputation and respect.”
When asked about the claims by the rebel MLAs that the Sena was compromising on its Hindutva ideology to continue its alliance with Congress and NCP, Aaditya said: “Their idea of Hindutva is very different from Balasaheb Thackeray’s or the party president’s or even the majority of the people of the state.” Without naming Eknath Shinde, he added that the person who had started the rebellion was given a department that no CM has parted with in the last 33 years – urban development department.
Responding to claims that Uddhav was incommunicado as CM, Aaditya said his father did not meet anyone for a month-and-a-half since Nove-mber as he underwent two surgeries, but did not miss a single party meeting and used technology to continue his work.
Sena MP Sanjay Raut tweeted an illustration of a man, allegedly depicting Uddhav, with a slash on his back. Warning the rebel MLAs that they will regret their decision, he said there’ll be no hindrance from Sena if they tie up with BJP.
