Mumbai, adjoining areas witness light drizzle – Times of India

MUMBAI: A light drizzle was witnessed in many parts of Mumbai late on Saturday night. Areas like Dadar, Sewri, Matunga, Parel and adjoining areas like Navi Mumbai also recorded light rain.
Weather officials said that low level clouding that was observed led to the showers. However, they said it was more of a local phenomenon owing to moisture incursion. “There was moisture incursion with winds being westerly to southwesterly. This is a highly localised phenomenon. Something that happens in this season. Daytime heating, availability of moisture so condensation can take place and we get rain,” said a official adding that this couldn’t be called the pre-monsoon showers yet.
IMD in a forecast for next 24 hours said that partly cloudy skies can be expected by evenings while minimum & maximum temperatures expected to be around 34 degrees & 27 degrees respectively.
Day temperatures recorded by the IMD Colaba & Santacruz observatory on Saturday was 33.9 degrees & 34.4 degrees respectively.
