Mumbai: Man arrested for killing wife within five hours – Times of India

MUMBAI: Within five hours of murder, the Sakinaka Police arrested a 22-year-old man for killing his wife at Khairani Road on Tuesday.
Police said that the accused husband told them that he suspected his wife’s character and killed her.
Police arrested Manoj Prajapati after sustained interrogation.
The complainant, Rohit Ravidas, who works in a garment factory, told the police that the deceased Rima Yadav, 22, was working at Khairani Road and had told him about her marital dispute with her husband.
She was staying separately in a room at Khairani Road and Ravidas used to deliver food for her.
On Monday night, he delivered food for her and left.
When he came on Tuesday morning and asked her to come down and take breakfast, she did not respond.
This is when he went on the first floor and found the door opened.
He saw injuries near her neck.
He immediately informed a neighbor and the police were called.
Police rushed her to Rajawadi Hospital where the doctors declared her dead before admission.
Her throat was slit open.
Police found her mobile phone in the room.
An officer said that investigators questioned several people including her husband.
During sustained interrogation, he admitted to have killed her.
The accused told police that he doubted his wife’s character and hence took the extreme step.
