Mumbai: Teen loan recovery agent held for morphing videos of woman who ‘failed to repay loan’ – Times of India

MUMBAI: A loan recovery agent was arrested for sending morphed obscene videos of a woman to her cousin because she had failed to repay a loan. The 19-year-old accused has been charged for molestation under IPC besides provisions of IT Act. He was held from Karnataka on Monday by Andheri GRP.
The victim’s cousin was commuting from Andheri to Vile Parle in a local train on March 4. She received pornographic videos from an unknown number on WhatsApp during the journey.
The face of the woman in the videos had been morphed with that of the victim. The cousin was taken aback and went to the cops with the videos. She also complained that the unknown sender had sent a text on WhatsApp after the videos. The text said that the victim had failed to repay a loan and was now working as a sex worker. The victim’s phone number had been flashed as well.
The cops then tracked down the number and found it registered in a senior citizen’s name. His teenaged nephew used the handset. The nephew worked as a recovery agent for loan companies and earned a 10% commission. The loan company would provide him data of their defaulters.
