Mumbai records second highest minimum temperature in a decade – Times of India

MUMBAI: For yet another day, above normal temperatures were recorded in the city. Night temperatures were also above normal. The minimum temperatures recorded on Sunday were the second highest in a decade at 27.8 degrees. Last year also the highest minimum temperatures for the month of April was 27.8 degrees recorded on April 26.
On Sunday, IMD Colaba observatory recorded maximum temperatures of 34 degrees which was 1.2 degrees above normal while the IMD Santa Cruz observatory recorded maximum temperatures of 35.5 degrees which was 2.2 degrees above normal. While there was a dip in the day temperatures compared to a day ago, weather officials have forecast that temperatures are expected to remain around the same range.
The night temperatures recorded on Sunday were also on the higher side with the IMD Santacruz recording minimum temperatures of 27.8 degrees while the IMD Colaba observatory recorded minimum temperatures of 27.4 degrees. At 27.8 degrees night temperatures were the second highest in the last decade. The highest minimum temperatures recorded in the last decade have been off 28 degrees in the year 2019.
The relative humidity recorded by the IMD Colaba and Santacruz observatory was 75% and 71% respectively. Last year the highest recorded maximum temperature was 35.8 degrees on April 7. The all-time highest maximum temperature recorded in the city for the month of April has been 42.2 degrees as recorded on April 14, 1952.
