Mumbai News Live Updates: Survey finds parents favour mandatory masking for students in schools – Times of India

With the mask mandate becoming optional in several states, including Maharashtra, a survey has found parents favouring mandatory masking for students and staff in schools across the country.

In Maharashtra, 29% of parents want masks on, both indoors and outdoors. Another 28% of parents say wearing masks inside classrooms should be made compulsory for both students and staff. Across the country 62% of parents want masks indoors but 52% are not in favour of masks between classes or during breaks.

LocalCircles, a community social media platform got over 25,000 parents/grandparents across 381 districts to respond to two questions on the mask mandate in schools and in public places. Of the respondents 67% were men and 42% were from tier 1 cities, said chairperson and founder Sachin Taparia.
