Mumbai Live Updates: Maharashtra records 535 coronavirus cases, ten deaths – The Indian Express

Mumbai news: Maharashtra on Saturday reported 535 new coronavirus infections, taking the caseload to 78,68,451. With 10 persons succumbing to the viral infection, death toll reached 1,43,737, according to news agency PTI.

Mumbai city reported 65 new cases and no deaths. The caseload of the financial capital of the country stands at 10,55,954 and death toll at 16,691.

Union Minister Narayan Rane and his MLA son Nitesh Rane on Saturday recorded their statements in connection with the case registered against them for allegedly making defamatory remarks and spreading false information about Disha Salian, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager, an official said.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on Friday witnessed chaotic scenes as the BJP targeted the MVA government over its refusal to seek state minister Nawab Malik’s resignation and blamed it for the Supreme Court’s rejection of the interim report of a panel on political quota for Other Backward Classes (OBCs). Before being adjourned for the day, the Assembly saw two adjournments.
