Mumbai News: Maharashtra reported 4,359 new Covid-19 cases, over 1,000 less than a day before,  and 32 deaths on Saturday. With the positivity rate  being recorded to be 10.27 per cent, the active cases in the state fell down to 52,238. There were 237 new Omicron cases too.

Veteran industrialist Rahul Bajaj will be accorded a state funeral, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Saturday as he and state governor B S Koshyari condoled his demise saying his contribution in the field of industrial development in the country was unparalleled. According to a Bajaj group official, Rahul Bajaj’s last rites will be held on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday attacked the Opposition, saying he has been called a popular CM for the work done during Covid-19 but some people can’t digest it and talk of unearthing corruption. His remarks come in the wake of BJP leader Kirit Somaiya alleging irregularities and corruption at the jumbo Covid centres and levelling allegations against the leaders of the ruling parties.
