Mumbai on Saturday reported 283 fresh coronavirus positive cases and zero deaths, taking the tally of positive patients to 7,66,791. The death toll is pegged at 16,363, the city civic body said. This was the fourth such time since the coronavirus case was reported in Mumbai in March 2020, when no deaths were reported during the last 24 hours.
The BMC has asked people to completely avoid any gatherings or organising parties for Christmas and New year’s eve amid rising concerns about the Omicron variant. Officials said that squads would be deployed in every ward to take strict action against violators.
