Condemning the gruesome rape of a 32-year-old woman, who later succumbed to her injuries, in Saki Naka in Mumbai, Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray ordered a fast-track trial and thorough investigation in the case. Home minister Dilip Walse Patil also promised justice for the victim, while BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis slammed the Maha Vikas Aghadi government over the issue of women’s safety in the state.
