For the fourth day in a row, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) continues to report heavy rains. Several low-lying areas reported waterlogging. In Thane’s Kalwa, five members of a family, including three minors, were killed after a boulder rolled down and crashed into a slum colony due to incessant rains. The civic bodies have also asked people to boil water before drinking due to seepage caused by the heavy rains. More than 400 cars, auto-rickshaw, sports bikes also drowned in the BMC’s underground parking lot in the Kandivali Thakur complex in Mumbai. Efforts are on to remove the water and vehicles. Meanwhile, BMC said that the city reported 402 new Covid-19 cases.
