Bringing respite from the sweltering heat, Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivli and adjoining areas received heavy rains as the southwest monsoon officially arrived in the city, however, it has led to waterlogging in several areas.
The maximum city started receiving moderate to heavy showers since the early morning along with thunderstorms.
As cold conditions intensify, smog shrouded parts of the city leading to decreased visibility.
However, the continuous rains have led to waterlogging in most low-lying areas, while local train services were also affected. The BEST also diverted routes of several buses.
Waterlogging has been reported at Netaji Palkar Chowk, S.V. Road Baherambaug Junction, Sakkar Panchayat Chowk, Neelam Junction, Govandi, Hindamata Junction, Iqbal Kamani Junction, Dharavi Restaurant, Dharavi, Sion Junction, King Circle.
