Mumbai: Sion flyover to be closed for vehicles on weekends – Times of India

MUMBAI: Sion flyover will be closed for vehicles on weekends, starting March 27, for a period of at least three months. The flyover will be open on all weekdays, Mumbai Traffic Police said.
The Maharashtra State Roads Development Corporation is undertaking repairs on the Sion flyover. The repairs will be on between March 27 and June 26.
“From 10pm on Saturdays up to 6am on Mondays, the Sion flyover will be closed for vehicles,” a senior traffic police official confirmed. Those wanting to travel to South Mumbai can go via Wadala- Anik Rpad- Bhakti Park- Eastern Freeway- CSMT/ Colaba. Those motorists wanting to travel to Dadar, Worli or Byculla can go via Wadala- Anik Road- Bhakti Park- Wadala Char Rasta- Dadar Five Gardens.
Additional traffic policemen will be deployed on streets to guide motorists on weekends. Congestion is likely in central Mumbai on weekends due to the closure of the Sion flyover.
