With over 700 new COVID-19 cases for the second consecutive day, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a fresh set of Covid-19 guidelines in Mumbai. The civic body has said that buildings found to have more than five Covid patients will be sealed and marshals will be deployed in suburban trains to take action against those travelling without masks. Gathering of more than 50 people at a time or any such violation will lead to punitive action. The civic body has also decided to resume stamping of the hands of people who are placed under home quarantine. In another development, the Mumbai Zonal Unit of Narcotics Control Bureau apprehended one South African woman and seized nearly 2.9 kgs of heroin from her possession at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
