Mumbai News Live Updates: City records highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases – Times of India

Amid rising concerns, Mumbai city on Wednesday recorded 721 fresh COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day spike since January 7. With this, the city’s COVID-19 tally mounted to 3.15 lakh. The number of active patients increased to 5,943. The daily cases had remained below the 500-mark on Monday and Tuesday. More than 500 fresh cases were recorded for five straight days since February 10. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar also took to the streets and appealed to the people with folded hands to follow all the Covid-19 protocols in the public interest. “I appeal to you all, do not force the government to impose another lockdown.
