With the new year around the corner, the Mumbai city police have geared up to monitor city roads, beaches, and all other important spots and vital installations. Eight drones and over 40,000 cops will be keeping a close eye on Mumbai in view of COVID-19. A total of 477 out of the 868 passengers who landed in Mumbai from Europe and the Middle East on December 26 have been quarantined. Five flyers who were placed in ‘hotel quarantine’, have tested positive for Covid-19. Their swab samples will be sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune.
