Rain lashes parts of Mumbai – Times of India

MUMBAI: For the third consecutive day, Mumbai and its surrounding areas received light rains in the morning on Monday.
KS Hosalikar, IMD’s deputy director general of the western region, said, “Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai received light rains in last six hours at most places as seen from rainfall monitoring network with yellow and green spots (up to 5 mm rainfall). There is a cloudy sky over Mumbai which is expected to open up in the later part of the day.”

With the morning rains, the minimum temperatures at Santacruz and Colaba dipped to 22 degree Celsius, down from 23.8 degree Celsius on the previous day. The temperatures however continued to remain above normal by 3.4 degree Celsius at Santacruz and 1 degree Celsius at Colaba.
Colaba and Santacruz received 13.8 mm and 4.8 mm rainfall in the 24 hours ending 8.30am on Monday.
On Sunday the Met’s Santacruz observatory recorded the third lowest maximum December temperature since 2010. It was 27.6 degrees Celsius — down from 28.8 the previous day. Before Sunday, the lowest maximum temperature in December since 2010 was recorded on December 6, 2017 at 23.3 degrees Celsius. In 2010, the lowest maximum temperature in December was 26.5 degrees Celsius. Colaba recorded a temperature of 27.4 degree Celsius, was also 5 degree Celsius below normal.
