Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old man and his two minor daughters, aged nine and 12 years, were found dead in Kandivali area of Mumbai, Maharashtra. A note purportedly written by the now-deceased man has been recovered from the spot by the city police.

Triple suicide or murder-suicide?

Police are investigating if it is a case of triple suicide or the father murdered his daughters and then committed suicide. In the final note, the now-deceased man stated that he was unable to repay loans due to his poor financial condition.

A probe into the matter is underway.

In a similar incident, a 37-year-old woman, facing a financial crisis, had allegedly murdered her two specially-abled children – a son and a daughter – and then killed herself at her house in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh in October.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man and his 26-year-old sister-in-law, who were allegedly having an affair, committed suicide by hanging themselves at Brahmantara village in Ghazipur area of Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district.


The deceased – identified as Ram Milan Nishad and Sunita – were found hanging from the ceiling of a room on Tuesday. Sunita’s husband told the police that his wife and brother were in a relationship. They were upset after Nishad’s marriage was recently fixed, he added.
