Mumbai: On Tuesday evening, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar in the city of Mumbai. The leader is expected to meet some eminent personalities of Bollywood.
This comes after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray warned that he will not let anyone ‘forcibly’ take businesses away from the state.
Incidentally, Congress leader Sachin Sawant had recently alleged that there has been a conspiracy to shift the Hindi film industry outside of Mumbai. In September, Adityanath had announced an ambitious plan of setting up ‘one of the largest film cities’ in UP, in the midst of the Sushant Singh Rajput death case and the Bollywood drugs row.
While interacting with mediapersons at an event, Thackeray said, “We are not jealous if someone progresses, we do not have any problem with someone’s progress if one competes. But if you are going to forcibly take anything away, then of course, I won’t let it happen and you (industrialists) will not be willing to go.”
Without taking names, Thackeray added that ‘some people’ do not know the magnetic strength of Maharashtra. “Some people are coming today, they will also meet you all and ask you to come (for investments). But they do not know the magnetic strength (of Maharashtra). It is so powerful that instead of people going from here to those states, locals from there migrate to our state all the time,” he said.
Adityanath will visit Mumbai on December 2 to ring the bell at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) during the listing of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) bonds.
Among the film personalities who will meet the UP CM during his Mumbai visit, are Subhash Ghai, Bonny Kapoor, Bhushan Kumar, Randeep Hooda, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Jimmy Shergill, Taran Adarsh, Komal Nahta and Raj Kumar Santoshi, among others.
