Mumbai: Portion of building collapses at Grand road – Mumbai Mirror

A portion of a building collapsed at Grant Road in Mumbai on Wednesday evening.

The incident took place at Lamington Road located at Grant Road.

A balcony side portion of the first, second, and third floors of ground plus four-storey building collapsed, following which the authorities rushed to the site.

The debris had blocked the ground floor’s main entrance.

One person identified as Aditya Mehta (28) was stranded in the room. However, he was rescued safely.

As a precautionary measure, two buildings were vacated.

So far, no injuries or a person being trapped under the debris have been reported.

The clearing of the debris is underway. It is not known if the building was in the list of dilapidated structures – an annual list prepared by municipal authorities.

Further inquiry is underway.
