Youth stabs man, flees to Dubai, held 16 months later in Mumbai – Times of India

MUMBAI: A 21-year-old man, accused of stabbing and robbing an auto driver, returned to Mumbai a year and a half after the crime. He was arrested on Wednesday. Accused Shakir Shaikh had fled to Dubai.
On June 23, 2019, Shaikh and his aide Akash Naik (21) took an auto from Mhada Colony, Andheri to Aram Nagar around 12.30am. On reaching, the duo got out and attacked auto driver Naresh Shah with a knife. They repeatedly stabbed Shah, then 20 years old, and fled with his cellphone and the few hundred rupees Shah had earned that day. Naik was arrested within 24 hours. Shah survived and was able to resume work in two months.
