15,591 new Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, 424 deaths – Times of India

MUMBAI: Maharashtra on Friday recorded 15,591 new coronavirus cases, which took the total case count in the state to 14,16,513, the health department said.
With 424 Covid-19 patients succumbing, the death toll due to the pandemic reached 37,480.
On the other hand, 13,294 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the total of recoveries to 11,17,720.
There are 2,60,876 active cases in the state, while 69,60,203 people have been tested so far.
The recovery rate in the state is 78.91 per cent, while the fatality rate is 2.65 per cent.
At present, 21,94,347 people are in home quarantine and 29,051 people in institutional quarantine.
Out of the 15,591 new cases, 2,440 were recorded in Mumbai, taking the total number of recorded positive cases in the state capital to 2,10,060.
42 new deaths in the city took its Covid-19 death toll to 9,014.
In the wider Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) comprising Mumbai and surrounding areas, there were 4,937 new cases and 161 deaths. The total positive cases in MMR thus reached 4,91,001 and death toll rose to 16,110.
Nashik city recorded 692 new cases on Friday, Ahmednagar city 210 cases, Jalgaon city 173, Pune city 1,043, Pimpri Chinchwad 599, Sangli city 139, Aurangabad city 278, Amravati city 129, Nagpur city 646 new cases and Chandrapur city 154.
Of 424 deaths, 272 took place in the last 48 hours while rest had taken place earlier but were recorded on Friday.
