Mumbai: Make-up artist and garment trader held for drugs – Times of India

MUMBAI: A make-up artist and a garment trader in a bid to meet the ends landed up in police lockup after they chose the wrong profession of drug peddling.
The city crime branch on Thursday arrested a mak-eup artist Niketan Suresh Jadhav alias Nikhil (30) and his friend garment trader Parvez Hanif Halai (32) for possession of 105 grams of Mephedrone MD.
Both were charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) act and were remanded to police custody. Police are trying to figure out if Niketan who has worked with top film production houses has any Bollywood or celebrities’ connections.
Acting on the tip off unit XI led by inspector Sunil Mane and staff laid a trap at Duttpada road at Borivali and arrested two accused who had come to deliver the contraband.
“Niketan who work as make-up artist has previous offences of attempt to murder, assault, house breaking and body offences at Charkop, Borivli, Kasturba Marg and Amboli police station. He has worked with noted actresses as a hair designer. Now since the shootings are shut, he was jobless for sometime and hence he along with his friend tried their hands to peddle drugs and were arrested,” said Sunil Mane.
