The two were also in the news in May when the Marine Drive police booked them for lockdown violation. According to a Hindustan Times report, they were out and about in their BMW, which was eventually seized. The police detained them and registered a case under sections 188 and 269 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the National Disaster Management Act. However, they let them off with a notice later.
Time and again, Poonam has been the subject of many controversies due to her bold statements. Her most notable controversial statement is related to the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
