Mumbaikars unite, bash Kangana Ranaut for comparing Mumbai with Pakistan-occupied Kashmir – Mumbai Mirror

It took just one tweet to unite Mumbaikars. Even the people who argue about how their city is riddled with problems otherwise, came together on Twitter to slam Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut after she compared the city with Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Accusing Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut of given an ‘open threat’ and asking her not to come back to Mumbai, Kangana had claimed, “After Aazadi graffitis in Mumbai streets and now open threats, why Mumbai is feeling like Pakistan occupied Kashmir,” Kangana Tweeted.

Following that Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that actor Kangana Ranaut should approach the police with evidence and prove that he threatened her rather than ‘playing on Twitter”.

However, Kangana’s tweet has not at all gone down well with Mumbaikars.

Several people took to Twitter to express their love for Mumbai city and how it is the city that gives respect to the hardworking.

“I strongly condemn of @KanganaTeam comparing Mumbai as POK. I think every true Mumbaikar should condemn it, this is an insult of our city of dreams, which has rewarded us many times in life & insult to those who have built the city with sweat and blood,” said Bhushan Patil.

She welcomes everyone with open arms, feeds whoever in need, bestows the striving with success, crowns the deserving, said Aniket Nagawade Patil, adding, “Everyone feels safe and warm here. We won’t tolerate anyone falsely defaming our Mumbai for personal gains.”

Some people also posted photos of ‘I Love Mumbai’ art installation.

Stating that Kangana’s sister Rangoli was ‘physically assaulted and almost beaten to death’ in Dehradun, and not in Mumbai, another persons aid, “Did she ever call Dehradun as ‘Pak Occupied Kashmir’??”

Youth activist Pratik Patil said that Mumbai gives a major chunk of revenue in filling the coffers of the nation. Its beauty and riches are open to all. “People reaping benefits from this very town have no right to call names to our Mumbai. She has to apologise.”

Celebrities too have joined in slamming Kangana.

Renuka Shahane slams Kangana

Last week, Kangana offered to help the Narcotics Bureau, which has started an investigation following fresh allegations linked to WhatsApp chats reportedly found on Rhea Chakraborty’s phone, but she said that she needs protection, but she won’t take it from the Mumbai police. She wants protection either from the Himachal police of from a central agency, as per her tweet.

In fact, Kangana is also responding to those who are criticising her.

“So all the bullies are having a meltdown now, frustrated but can’t come up with anything remotely logical, so now tweeting obscene memes and calling me names, shaming me by trending #KanganaPagalHai and next they will pretend to be Mental illness warriors,” she said using hashtag #ShameOnSanjayRaut.

In another tweet she said that mental illness is being used as a slur against me, entire left gang along with mafia is enthusiastically participating in #KanganaPagalHai trend, same way mental illness was used to shame and blackmail Sushant, please don’t use mental illness loosely. Yet she hasn’t responded to questions over her claim of equating Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
