Mumbai’s Covid fatality dipped to its lowest in 100 days with 20 deaths being reported on Monday, even as 743 more tested positive for the virus. With recoveries of 14,000 more COVID-19 patients, the number of people discharged from hospital in Maharashtra crossed the 5 lakh mark on Monday. However, the state continues to report a huge number of cases. 11,015 fresh cases took the tally to 6.93 lakh, while 212 more patients succumbed to the infection. The state is likely to touch the grim milestone of seven lakh cases today. The state now has 1.68 lakh active cases. From August 7, the country has seen a spike of over 60,000 cases, taking the overall numbers to over 3 million.
