Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in Mumbai, Thane for next two days – Mumbai Mirror

Mumbai city and adjoining areas are likely to get heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next two days.

The orange alert by the IMD’s Mumbai centre has also been issued for coastal districts.

Meanwhile, traffic jams has already been reported near Vile Parle and Santacruz on Western Express Highway.

IMD’s Dy Director General KS Hosalikar said,” IMD GFS forecast for rains indicate heavy to very heavy with possibilities of isolated extremely heavy (more than 200mm) rainfall over Konkan, including Mumbai, Thane today.”

He further added that tomorrow’s trend is expected to continue with little reduced intensity.

The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 30 degrees Celcius and 25 degrees Celcius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, Dahanu recorded 128 mm rainfall, Colaba 121.6 mm, Santacruz 96.6 mm, Ratnagiri 101.3 mm, and Alibaug 122.6 mm.

On Tuesday, several low lying areas including Sion, Kings Circle witnessed water-logging.
