Maharashtra’s Covid-19 cases rise to 44,582, Mumbai’s count crosses 27,000-mark – Mumbai Mirror

Maharashtra reported the highest spike of 2,940 COVID-19 new cases on Friday. Sixty-three people succumbed to the virus today in the state. With this, the state has recorded 44,582 cases and 1,517 deaths so far.

A total of 1,751 new cases were reported in Mumbai today, taking its overall count to 27,068. Twenty-seven people succumbed to the infection in Mumbai today. Out of 27 deaths, 22 patients had co-morbidities. Among them, 18 patients were men and nine were women. One death was below 40 years and 13 deaths were above 60 years and 13 were between 40 to 60 years. Mumbai alone has reported 909 deaths so far.

The slum-clusters of Dharavi alone reported 53 new cases today, taking the total number of patients to 1,478.

Also 857 patients have been cured and discharged today, and overall 12,583 patients have been cured and discharged from the hospitals in the state. There are 30,474 active cases in the state and 3,32,777 people have been tested so far.

Also, nine deaths were reported in Pune, eight in Jalgaon and five in Solapur while Vasai-Virar and Aurangabad districts reported three deaths each. Two deaths were reported in Satara. One death each was reported in Malegaon, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, Ulhasnagar, Panvel and Nagpur.
