Mumbai: 29-year-old air hostess ends life at home – Times of India

MUMBAI: A 29-year-old air hostess allegedly ended her life by consuming poison at her Vile Parle (E) home last week. The body of deceased Sultana Shaikh was found in a decomposed state late on Wednesday, after building residents called the police about a foul smell emanating from Shaikh’s flat at Rajlaxmi Apartment, Shahaji Raje Road. Police filed a case of suicide after they found a suicide note that Shaikh had left.
In the note, Shaikh said she was dealing with personal problems, which led her to take the extreme step. Police said her act was not caused by the loss of a job. Shaikh lived in the rented flat with a female colleague, but had been living alone during the lockdown as her roommate left for her parents’ house, the police said.
Police had to break into the apartment on Wednesday, said an officer. He added that Shaikh’s family, who live in Nagpada, were informed. Her body was sent for a post-mortem to Cooper hospital, and the police are waiting for the report.
The building residents told the police that they had not seen Shaikh outside her flat for the last few days.
