Total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mumbai stands at 86: BMC – Livemint

The total number of positive coronavirus cases in the city as of Friday stands at 86, said Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

This, after nine more people were found Covid-19 positive in the sprawling metropolis on Friday. Five of them have travel history while four are close contacts. Six of them are from Mumbai while three are from other places.

The number of coronavirus positive cases in Maharashtra, of which Mumbai is the capital, increased from 125 to 135 after ten new cases were detected till late Thursday night, Health Minister Rajesh Tope said in Mumbai on Friday.

They include one each from Pune and Kolhapur, besides three from Sangli, four from Nagpur and one from Gondiya.

The Minister further said that so far 19 persons have been discharged from various hospitals in Mumbai, Pune and other places, after being fully recovered.

“There are many more cases on way to recovery proving that the disease is curable. We have also tested over 4,200 persons. The strategy is three ‘Ts’ – Tracing, Testing and Treatment’ of the patients,” Tope said, IANS reported.
