Mumbai college girl pushed off train – Times of India

MUMBAI: A collegian was pushed out of a stationary local train at Mahim by a 25-year-old man after she objected to him beating his transgender friend who was in a ladies coach on Friday evening. The accused, Ali Naushad Shaikh, has been arrested.
The railway police said that Shaikh was in a relationship with the transgender person. Two days ago, they two had a fight. On Friday, the transgender person was on a train which halted at Mahim. Shaikh, who was at the station, spotted his friend in the ladies coach. He boarded it and and started hurling abuses at her. When he started to hit her, other women travellers objected.
The 18-year-old collegian was in the same coach with her cousin. She rushed to the transgender person’s defence and opposed Shaikh. Infuriated, Shaikh slapped the collegian and hurled expletives at her too. By then, other women in the compartment started yelling and Shaikh got ready to flee. But the collegian blocked the door and he pushed her on the platform from the stationary train and started to run. Other women commuters raised an alarm and patrolling Maharashtra Security Force personnel caught hold of Shaikh.
The collegian told the police that she had grazed her knee and elbow but was not too hurt.
